FAQs for Home Visits
Answers to the most common questions about booking, what to expect, and how it all works.
Booking & Availability
How do I book a session?
Use the booking form on the Book a Session page, or email me directly using the link at the bottom of this page. I'll respond within 24 hours to confirm.
Is a deposit required?
No deposit is required. Your appointment is secured by a simple confirmation exchange. I trust my clients to honour their commitment to the session.
How far in advance should I book?
48–72 hours' notice is ideal for weekday sessions. For weekends, a week ahead is recommended. Last-minute requests are sometimes possible — just reach out and I'll let you know.
What is the cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations within 24 hours may be subject to a 50% charge, as the slot cannot be filled at short notice. I do understand that unexpected things happen — please just communicate as early as possible.
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes. Get in touch via the booking form or email link to arrange a bespoke gift voucher for any treatment and duration. These make a genuinely thoughtful gift.
The Home Visit
What areas of Cardiff do you cover?
I cover all of Cardiff — Pontcanna, Canton, Roath, Heath, Llandaff, Cardiff Bay, the city centre, Whitchurch, and more — plus Penarth and the Vale of Glamorgan. Travel is free within 3 miles of CF11. Beyond that, a mileage contribution of £3/mile applies. If you're unsure, send me your postcode and I'll confirm.
How much space do I need?
A clear floor space of approximately 2 metres × 1.5 metres for the massage table, plus a little room to move around it. This fits comfortably in most living rooms or bedrooms. The space should ideally be warm and private.
What do I need to provide?
Just the space, and the time afterwards to rest. I bring everything: professional massage table, fresh high-quality linens, organic oils, and a calming Hawaiian soundscape. You don't need to provide towels, equipment, or anything else.
What happens when you arrive?
I set up the table and settle the space while you prepare. We'll have a brief consultation — about 5 minutes — to confirm your health history and any specific focus for the session. Then you have privacy to undress to your comfort level before the session begins.
Draping & Hygiene
Will I be covered throughout the session?
Yes. Professional draping is used throughout the entire session. Only the area being actively worked on is uncovered at any time. Your modesty and comfort are managed carefully at all times.
What should I wear or bring?
You'll undress to your own comfort level — most clients undress fully (aside from underwear) to allow full-body work, but this is entirely your choice. Comfortable, loose clothing to change into afterwards is helpful. Remove any jewellery before the session.
How do you maintain hygiene for home visits?
Fresh linens are used for every single session — never reused between clients. I wash and launder all linens between appointments. Equipment is cleaned and sanitised between visits. The oils used are professional grade and skin-safe. I will not attend if I have any symptoms of illness.
Are your oils organic?
Yes. I use high-quality organic carrier and therapeutic oils suited to each treatment. Please let me know in advance if you have any known allergies or skin sensitivities.
The Treatments
What is the difference between Lomi Lomi Nui and Lymphatic Drainage?
Lomi Lomi Nui is traditional Hawaiian bodywork — deeply relaxing, ritual-led, and focused on restoring harmony between body, mind, and spirit through long, continuous forearm strokes. Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a distinct clinical technique using gentle, precise movements to support the lymphatic system. They're different disciplines and are offered as separate, dedicated treatments — not combined.
Can I combine treatments in one session?
The Holistic Facial is available as a 30-minute add-on to any body treatment session. Lomi Lomi Nui and Lymphatic Drainage are kept as separate, standalone sessions — each is more effective when given its full dedicated time rather than being compressed together.
Is Lomi Lomi safe for everyone?
Lomi Lomi is gentle and suitable for most people. Please let me know in advance if you are pregnant, have a history of cancer or lymphoedema, have any recent injuries, or have other health considerations. There are contraindications for some conditions — I'll advise whether a session is appropriate and adapt the treatment where needed.
What should I do before my session?
Stay well hydrated during the day. Have a light meal at least an hour beforehand — not too full, not hungry. Avoid alcohol for at least 12 hours before. Don't schedule anything strenuous immediately afterwards. The session initiates a physiological process — giving your body quiet time to respond is part of how it works.
Will I feel any soreness afterwards?
Lomi Lomi is flowing and rhythmic rather than percussive — most clients feel deeply relaxed, occasionally a little sleepy or emotionally quiet for the rest of the day. Lymphatic drainage sessions can occasionally result in mild fatigue as the body processes and rebalances. Both pass quickly. Drink water, rest where you can.
